Blue Springs - Dorothy Jo Felix of Blue Springs Missouri passed away Sunday January 16, 2022, at Ignite Medical Resort in Blue Springs at the age of 84. She was born May 13, 1937, in Polk, Missouri to Milton and Wilma (Payne) Inglis. Dorothy was the wife of the late Gene Felix. They were united in marriage on September 23, 1967, and were married for 50 years.
Dorothy acquired many friends throughout the years. She worked for several years in the Independence Missouri school district as a cafeteria Manger until she retired in 1982. Gene was a professional Trap Shooter, and Dorothy worked as a cashier and bookkeeper during Gene’s shoots. Dorothy and Gene lived in Arizona during the winter months, and in the summers, they would spend time in Linn Creek, Missouri where they were involved with the Missouri Trapshooters Association.
Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her mother, siblings, children, and grandchildren. She enjoyed fishing, fish fries, campfires, and crocheting. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, an inspiration and joy to her family and friends, and will be greatly missed.
Dorothy is survived by her 5 children: Dixie Coratti of Blue Springs Missouri, Steve Williams of Blue Springs Missouri, Cliff Felix and his wife Judy of Broken Arrow Oklahoma, Steve Felix and his wife Cindy of Bates City Missouri, and Anna Griffitt and her husband Terry of Downer Groves Illinois. Dorothy is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Gene, her parents Milton and Wilma, her sisters Doris Fulbright and Joyce Franka, and her brother Denny Inglis.
Graveside service will be Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Mount View Cemetery in Polk, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mount View Cemetery or Mount View Missionary Baptist Church.
