Gott, Toney Allen -
Halfway - Toney Allen Gott age 89, of Halfway, MO, passed away Tuesday May 10, 2022, at Buffalo Prairie Care Center Buffalo, MO. He was a lifelong resident of the Providence / Rock Prairie communities.
On June 28, 1953, he married the love of his life Janet Wommack. They walked through life together enduring many joys and challenges during their 67 years.
Church was a great influence in his life and he was saved and baptized into Providence Missionary Baptist Church where he was ordained a Deacon. Allen served faithfully as deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, and teacher until his health prevented attendance. Allen worked for Reyco Industries in Springfield, MO, for 35 years and was a member of the local machinist union for over 50 years. Still his favorite place to be was on the farm raising Hereford cows and wrestling grandkids.
Allen is survived by his wife Janet; sons: Richard Gott (Becky), Rex Gott (Anita), Randy Gott (Becky); daughter Teresa Owens (Mike); 10 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren; a sister in-law Sara Wommack; also, a beloved aunt Sylvia Snodgrass; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Heber and Opal Gott; his in-laws Floyd and Dorothy Wommack; his sister Priscilla Gott; a son Bryan Gott; a granddaughter Mindy Gott; a great grandson Jeremiah Forrest; and his favorite brother in-law Bob Wommack.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, May 13, 2022, at Providence Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Donnie Lane officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Prairie Cemetery Halfway, MO. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 12, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rock Prairie Cemetery Fund.
